As soon as I open the door, she bursts into the room, nearly knocking me over.

Her heavy, seductive body rubs against me for a short moment carrying the fragrance of rain, mud, and electricity.

I stare her down with my heavy gaze and sigh as I reach out to remove the wet curls that cover her pale face. For a moment a rush of pity when I meet her bloodshot, intense eyes and realize how pale she looks. The soaked curls are framing one of the prettiest faces I’ve kissed, making it look like the visage of a mermaid.

A deranged mermaid with lust and violence in her eyes and despair on her lips as she uttered.

“Please…”

Sending her away into the black night and the torrential rain was the last thing I wanted… and yet it had to be done.

“You need to leave…” The hardest words I’ve ever spoken.
