Hello, WIP IT UP! This week I’m already past the point of 137 000 words, which was my initial goal for that novel. And I still have 3 chapters left to finish it. May the gods of editing help me, this will be one helluva bloodbath once I have to edit it. I’m sure I’ll trim at least 10k off the total wordcount. Anyway, I’m at home this week so with a little bit of luck and inspiration next week should be my last entry of Unorthodox Chemistry. Meanwhile, have one of the suspenseful moments of the book. Fair warning, it’s not for those who are easily scared so read at your risk.
Unorthodox Chemistry is Book 2 of The Unorthodox Trilogy, a sequel to Unorthodox Therapy. Unless life gets in the way I should finish it by the end of October and it will go live by February 18th, 2018. The cover is temporary.

The thought of our solitude was still filling me with some sense of dread but this time they didn’t have me in a choke hold. I even allowed myself to think it was somehow romantic about our isolation.
The rest of the world could wait.
We were all alone and that was beautiful.
I kept walking at a steady pace, hugging myself as the cold was seriously getting to my bones. Perhaps we could have a nice last night before we went back to reality. Hot chocolate and cuddling in front of the fire followed by slow and sensual lovemaking if we had any strength left at all.
That idea made me smile as I was going up the rocky path from the beach to the front porch. The house was dark and looked abandoned, which made me frown a little. Has Thomas gone out? Perhaps he had gone to buy something we had forgotten yesterday. The supermarket must be closed by that time, though…
When I unlocked the front door and walked in the hair on my back raised and I nearly ran out in a rush of panic. It was way too quiet and my self-preservation instinct went on full alert. Still, I took a deep breath and got inside, with heart beating like a drum and racing pulse.
“Thomas? Are you here?” I called out as I reached out for the light switch.
I never saw a dark figure in the corner or hear someone move behind me. The first moment I became aware of their presence was when they clapped their hand over my mouth, tugged me hard by the hair and forced me to kneel.
Too late.
“Don’t make a fucking sound or I’ll cut your fucking throat.” A low, growling voice hissed in my ear and I cried out when the stranger pressed a blade to my throat, close enough so I’d feel the cold metal but not so close it would break the skin.”Be a good girl and you won’t get hurt. Do you understand?”
It was a man, tall and pretty strong, easy to overpower me and mere hair’s width away from slicing me open. He released my mouth and I let out a shaky gasp.
That’s all for today. Hopefully next week, I’ll announce a happy event. Now, hurry up to WIP IT UP Headquarters for more teasers and snippets.
